There’s 100% a disconnect between supermans ideals and what john henry has at his disposal. Superman has the leeway and strength in excess to be able to not kill people without risks to himself and others. What other character in this show has the ability to protect themselves and others without taking risks or potentially having to kill a villain who is set on killing them. John Henry would have had very little choice against a super powered villain IMO. The only way you can justify not killing a villain like that is if you’re assuming to stand around and wait for superman to fix the situation.
